The bus runs approximately 35 minutes.

The bus journey time from the airport to Kvaternik Square is 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic jams in the city.
2 step. Get off at Kvaternikova trg square and look for trams 5 or 7. These two trams will take you to the Zagreb bus arrival.
Trams run 8 minutes.
A tram ride costs 4 kunas, i.e. app. 0,5 euros
Tram travel time to Zagreb bus arrival is 10 minutes.
You can walk from Kvaternikov trg / square to the bus station. Travel time is approximately 20 minutes, depending on the amount of your luggage.
3 step. From the bus destination of Zagreb, intercity buses run to all the more or less large cities of Croatia. Now we are interested in the coastal part.
For example, this spring, I miraculously got in 3.2 hours on a comfortable bus to one of the most beautiful resort towns in Croatia – Opatija city.

No less comfortably can be reached by bus to the seaside towns, the Istrian peninsula, the regions of Kvarner and North Dalmatia. Travel time will be from 3 to 5 hours with stops.
Of course, buses also run to the city of Split, but a 6-hour trip can already be a bit heavy.

So a bus ticket from Zagreb to Opatija cost me 20 euros including a service fee.
The intercity bus ticket must be bought in advance, especially during the summer tourist season.
I had a positive experience of buying a bus ticket to Opatija through the OMIO online service.
