During the last 10 years, the Sljeme Medvednica ski resort appeared and became popular in Croatia.

Each January, two world skiing and slalom tournaments for men and women take place here. Since 2005, the important international tournament Snow Queen Trophy takes place here. It was named after the world famous Croatian skier Janica Kostelic.

In 2013, the capital of Croatia, Zagreb, became the 16th member of the prestigious Club5. Thus, Zagreb joined the “classic” ski resorts, where the most popular alpine skiing competitions took place.
