Beaches in Rovinj city
Rovinj resort is one of the most famous, old and favourite town of Croatia.
Rovinj has been called “the pearl of the Adriatic” for the cleanness and the comfort of the sea, the beaches, the numerous bays and the islands of the curiously rugged coastline of the riviera of Rovinj.
The beaches of Rovinj are mainly small-pebbled. Many of the picturesque secluded beaches of Rovinj are located along the coast of the nature park — a 100-year-old forest — Golden Cape (Zlatni Rt), or Punta Corrente, located 2 km away from the very centre of Rovinj.
Monte beach of Rovinj Old City
Monte beach is located to the west of the Old City of Rovinj. The beach is only 150 m long, but it is subdivided into several parts.
Mala Gugulijera, Velika Gugulijera and Balota beaches are suitable for small children. Laterna beach is better for adults because of how quickly the sea becomes deep.
The beaches are stony and have no natural shade around. You can get to Monte beach only on foot as cars are banned from the Old City of Rovinj.
Beach of St Katarina island
St Katarina island is one of the most beautiful islands of the riviera of Rovinj.
The eastern part of the island is best developed, there are many kinds of sports and water entertainment for the guests. The guests of the beach of the island are offered a swimming pool, a restaurant, a cafe and a bar, a diving centre, wind surfing, beach golf and volleyball, children’s sandboxes. However, the beaches here are sony and are more suitable for older children and adults.
St Katarina island lies several hundred metres away from the mainland. You can get to St katarina island of Rovinj by any of the numerous water taxis from the centre of Rovinj.
The northwestern side of the island is rocky with lots of bluffs, the height of which reaches 15 m, and the sea is 3 m deep. The rocks of St Katarina island — Zlatna, Srebrna and Bronсana — are a favored diving spot.
Beach of Lone bay
Lone bay is one of the bays of Zlatni rt woodland park. The bay is protected from sting winds by a peninsula.
Lone beach of Rovinj is one of the most popular beaches of the riviera, it is perfect for family rest with children of different ages. The beach is outlined by the shade of a hundred-year-old tress of the park.
Not far from the beach there are several places to have a meal. At the entrance to the park resort area you can rent a boat, a catamaran and equipment for windsurfing. Not far from Lone bay there are several hotels of Rovinj with swimming pools and sports grounds.
You can get to the beach of Lone bay on foot along the green paths from the city centre, the walk will not take more than 15 minutes.
Beach of Kurent bay
The beaches of Kurent and Montauro bays are located on the park peninsula Zlatni Rt 1.5 km away from the centre of Rovinj. Kurent beach is small-pebbled. Kurent beach is surrounded by a pine forest, there is a grassy area for sunbathing, and you can rent chaise-lounges.
For the guests of the each there is a cafe with drinks, fast food and ice-cream. The bay has a great view of the Rovinj archipelago.
Not far from Kurent bay there are scattered several cozy bays with pebbled and stony beaches for the lovers of secluded rest.
To the west of Kurent bay there is an old quarry of Cape Montauro of the Venetian era, where rock climbers hold their training sessions.
You can get to Kurent bay on foot.
Beach of Skaraba bay
Skaraba beach is located on the peninsula of the Zlatni rt park 3 km away from the centre of Rovinj. The coast of Skaraba is rocky, and the beaches are located in several bays with a pebbled slope into the sea.
The more frequented area of the beach is Balzamake, a more secluded place on the very cape of Skaraba, where there are stony areas for sunbathing.
The western part of the cape is rocky and unsuitable for children and those who can’t swim. The rocks of the western part of the bay attract many divers.
To the east of Cape Scaraba there is a high rocky shore for lovers of diving.
There is no other entertainment around Skaraba bay, and the nearest cafes and restaurants are closer to Kurent bay.
You can only get to Skaraba bay on foot or by bike. It is more convenient to leave your car at the car park of the entertainment centre of Rovinj — Monvi.
Beach of Koronsun bay on Cape Rusi
The beach of Koronsun bay is small, there is an area covered in small pebbles, and it is suitable for rest with small children. You can rent catamarans and chaise-lounges for sunbathing on the beach. The beach is largely surrounded by rocks.
200 m away there are beaches and slopes into the sea with big stones, the bottom is pebbled here.
The bay borders with Zlarni Rat park and is connected with it by pedestrian and cycling lanes.
Beach of Kuvi bay
Kuvi bay is 3 km to the south from the centre of Rovinj.
The beach of Kuvi bay is one of the most popular beaches of the riviera of Rovinj. The beach has been recently renovated, and not it’s covered in small pebbles. Kuvi beach is sloping and is suitable for family rest with children of different ages. You can spend an entire day on Kuvi beach.
Beach of Villas Rubin Rovinj
Villas Rubin beach is part of Villas Rubin 3* apartments of Rovinj, where the guests can rent bungalows, apartments, and many kinds of sports and water entertainment, there is a swimming pool with chaise-loungues, tennis courts, a children’s playground, rent of scooters and boats, diving.
Villas Rubin beach is small-pebbled, surrounded by pines, located 3 km away from the centre of Rovinj, the length of the beach is 1,5 km.
Bordering Polare bay, there is a cozy small-pebbled bay, particularly loved by families with small children, near there is a children’s playground and a restaurant, not far from it there is a diving centre with equipment for rent for doing diving, a diving school that organises diving trips.
100 m away from the beach there is a cafe, a complex of sports playgrounds for playing tennis, football, basketball, table tennis, mini golf, handball and other games.
In this part of the coast there are several excellent beaches, some of which have a Blue Flag for the cleanness of the sea. There are showers and changing cubicles, there is a rescue service.
A separate part of Villas Rubin beach is dedicated for naturists. The nudist area of Villas Rubin beach is located in the more rocky part of the coast, the length of the nudist beach is 300 m. The beach mainly consists of large rounded stones.
Beach Polare bay and Cape Eva
Polare beach is part of the Polare campsite. The equipped Polare 3* mobile homes in Rovinj offers its guests places for parking and rest, as well as the rent of small bungalows for rest.
The distance from the beach and the campsite to the centre of the town of Rovinj is 3 km.
Polare beach is mainly stony. In the north, Polare borders with the beaches of the Villas Rubin touristic complex with all of its sports, water and children’s entertainment.
To the south of the bay there is a small pier, where you can also sunbathe.
Farther away, on the very Cape Eva there is a nudist beach.
Vestar bay beach
Vestar beaches are located 5 km away from centre of Rovinj city. Vestar beach is covered in wonderful small pebbles. Vestar beach of Rovinj is 700 m.
Vestar beach has been awarded a Blue Flag for the cleanness of the sea.
There are also sandy areas of the beach here. Not far from the beach, there is a campsite, where you can rent a boat or sports equipment, use the tennis courts, sports grounds and restaurants of the campsite.
The beach slopes into the sea, and Vestar beach is excellent for rest with children of different ages.
Babo Cape beach
After Polare bay, there is Cape Babo, the distance from the centre of the city of Rovinj is 5 km. The beaches of Cape Babo are stony with complex slopes into the sea. There are slopes made every 50-100 meters.
There isn’t any entertainment on Babo beach itself, but the guests can use anything that is offered at the camp site of Polare bay located nearby.
Beach of Cisterna bay and Bacvice bay
Cisterna beach is located 5 km away from the centre of city of Rovinj.
Cisterna and Bacvice beaches are made by white pebbles and are amon the most beautiful beaches of the riviera of Rovinj.
There is no entertainment on the beach, and the beach is one of the quiet “wild” beaches of Croatia. On Cisterna beach there is a sandy area. The nearest sports and water entertainment can be found at the Polare camp site 2 km away.
Gustinja bay beach
Gustinja bay is located not far from Rovinj. It is more convenient to get to Gustinja beach by sea. The nearest car park is located in 10 minutes’ walk from the beach.
Gustinja beach has no entertainment for the guests, the beach is one of the “wilde” beaches of Croatia and there aren’t many people there.
Gustinja beach is sloping and is suitable for family rest with children. The sea has a rich fauna here, and attracts divers.
Gustinja Cape beach
The beach of Cape Gustinja is located 7 km away from the centre of Rovinj. You can get to the beach of the cape by car. There are no entertainments on Cape Gustinja. Beaches of islands Crveni, Sveti Andrija, Maskin

Diving on Rovinj riviera

Not far from the beach there are sports centres. You can get to the beach by walking along the sea, or by boat from the centre of Porec.
Zelena Laguna beach
Zelena Laguna beach is located 2 km to the south from the centre of city of Porec. Zelena Laguna beach is rocky and partly pebbled.
The beach is also famous for the famous Byblos night club located there. The Byblos night club was made famous by the Italian designer Marco Lucchi, who designed the club in the black and white colours. In the club, there are always famous DJs and popular music. The nudust beach Zelena Laguna is located near the Zelena Laguna camp site of Porec.
Brulo beach
Brulo beach is located in the settlement of Brulo on the southern edge of Porec city, and it has a Blue Flag for the cleanness of the sea. A part of the beach is covered with grass, the beach is surrounded by pines, cypress trees and oaks. Not far from the beach there are cafes.
You can get to Brulo beach by the lanes along the sea, the hotels nearest to the beach have car parks.
Donji Spadici beach
Donji Spadici beach is located to the north of the centre of Porec between two hotels and near a sports complex. The beach is rocky and is equipped with concrete areas for sunbathing. Near the beach, there are lanes for walking and cycling.
Borik beach
Borik beach is located near the northern end of the town of Porec city. Borik beach has a beautiful view of the peninsular and the historical centre of Porec.
In 2015, beach Borik has been awarded a Blue Flag for the cleanness of the sea and the beaches.

St. Nikola beach
St. Nikola beach is located on a small island at the southern end of Porec.
