History knows several cases when the Blessed Virgin appeared. The places where the Blessed Virgin appeared later became holy. Pilgrims from many countries come here in search for hope, inner peace and salvation.

The most famous pilgrimage destinations connected with the Blessed Virgin: Lourdes (1858), Fatima (1917) and Medjugorje (1981) — Croatia.

Appearance of the Blessed Virgin

At the beginning of the 1980s, the Blessed Virgin appeared to four children from the small village of Medjugorje (Bosnia and Herzegovina), settled by Croatian Catholics, as they told later. The events in Medjugorje received wide coverage and attracted a lot of interest. Amazing things, omens, miracles, cases of hopeless sick people’s recovery have been connected with Medjugorje.

The appearances of the Blessed Virgin, according to the now grown-up witnesses, still continue, to some daily, to some annually, to some monthly. The Blessed Virgin appears and converses with her visionaries. These conversations are called messages, and they are recorded and translated into all the major languages of the world.

Medical scientists confirm that those who see Virgin Mary (they are called visionaries, seers, psychics) have unexplainable things happen to them.
