The most popular beach of the isle of Ciovo – Okrug Gornji

Beaches of Okrug Gornji resort

Okrug Gornij beach, the locals call it Capokabana, is the most popular and the longest beach of the isle of Ciovo. The length of Capokabana beach is 2 km.

Throughout its length, the beach is covered in small pebbles. The beach has natural shade and is ideal for resting with children of different ages. Okrug Gornji beach is one of the locals’ most favourite places for rest; many families come from Split to rest here.

Okrug Gornij beach offers various water and sport entertainments, has a selection of cafes and bars with background music of different generations, and of restaurants, pizza, fast food and ice cream.

The distance between city Trogir to Okrug Gornij beach is 3 km.

Mavarstica bay beach – Okrug Gornji

The beaches of Mavarstica bay on the southern part of the isle of Ciovo with a view on the isles of Brac and Solta amazes with its natural quiet and crystal purity of the sea.

The beaches of Mavarstica bay is a small-pebbled and covered with concrete for sunbathing beach and it stretches all along the bay. The beach has a sandy area — it is great for relaxing with small children, it has parts covered with concrete for sunbathing, and a natural shade throughout its length.

At the beach of Mavarstica bay everyone will find a place to have a rest in a way he likes.

The distance between city Trogir and Mavarstica bay is 5 km.

In Mavarstica bay there is a diving centre called Trogir, where more than 30 places for divers of different levels are offered.

Bok and Businici beaches – Okrug Gornji

Bok and Businici beaches are two small equipped beaches, which are part of the Okrug Gornij.

The primary beach is a small-pebbled beach, with concrete areas suitable for sunbathing in some places. These beaches are less crowded. They attract people mainly by their very clean coastline and the sea.

Kava beach – Donji Okrug

Kava beach in Donj Okrug is on the southern part of the isle of Ciovo.

Kava beach is a small-pebbled beach, it is surrounded by natural vegetation – all of this makes Kava beach suitable for family rest with children.

Not far from Kava beach there are several small cosy separate beaches.

Slatine beach – Slatine

The second most popular beach of the isle of Ciovo – Slatine beach – is on the eastern end of the island.

It is not far from a settlement bearing the same name — Slatine.

Slatine beach is a small-pebbled beach, and it is long, surrounded by pines and it fascinates with the purity of water there. Slatine beach doesn’t have a lot of entertainment, but there is a cafe and a fast food place on the beach. The distance between Trogir city and Slatine is 12 km.

Duga and Siroka bays beaches

Duga and Siroka bays are located between Okrug Gornj and Okrug Donj resorts.

The beaches here are small, cosy, with gentle slopes, and covered in small pebbles. The sea is very clean, and there is a great view of the isle of Fumiju.

Next to Duga nad Siroka beaches there is a restaurant offering Croatian national dishes.

There aren’t a lot of people on Duga beach, and it is becoming increasingly popular with guests and the locals.

You can get to the beach by car, scooter, or bike.

Marinova Draga beach

Marinova Draga beach is small; it is located between Trogir city and the Okrug Gornji resort. The beach is a gentle, small-pebbled beach, and it is very suitable for resting with children of any age.

Sveti Kriz beach – Arbanija resort of isle Ciovo

Sveti Kriz beach is located on the northern side of the island Ciovo.

Sveti Kriz beach is covered in small pebbles, and it is gentle. It offers water and sport entertainment, and is suitable for rest with small children.

Next to the beach there is the Sveti Kriz monastery, and a resort settlement called Arbania with all kinds of entertainment for guests, with shops, cafes and restaurants.

Diving on island Ciovo

A very clean sea and in some places rocky shores make the isle of Ciovo a popular place for those who love fishing and diving.

Diving centre TDC Croatia in Mavarstica bay of Ciovo isle offers more than 30 places around the isle of Ciovo, small islands around Ciovo, and also the islands of Veliki Drvenik and Solta for diving no farther than 15-20 minutes from the diving centre.

Among the more interesting places for diving are on the southern part of the isle of Ciovo on the depth of 20 m, where the remains of the fishing vessel “Payo” are found. This place is suitable for divers of all categories thanks to its small depth and good visibility.

Also, you can dive by the underwater rock “Red rocks” to the depth of 35 m, which is rich in its underwater life, such as lobsters, gorgons, and various kinds of fish.
